Having litigated many cases against WELLS FARGO and its attorneys pretty regularly over the past 15 years, nothing, absolutely nothing, in the recent revelations about its rampant fraud surprised me.
On October 1, 2015, the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau (CFPB) announced a Consent Order with Westlake Services and Wilshire Consumer Credit. Under the terms of the Consent Order, Westlake/Wilshire will pay $44.1 million in relief to consumers. This is a fantastic development. Bank fraud and abuse runs rampant throughout the industry.
